Zane Grey, Race Director
The Race Director for Zane Grey 2008 is Perry Edinger. He is
planning on continuing a long tradition of hosting an outstanding event. There
is a long history with Zane Grey and 2008 will return to some of those roots. Camp Tontozona, once used as the race headquarters, will once again be utilized. The
traditional race direction, “up the hill” will be run along with many other
basic traits of the race.
As race director for Pat’s Run (Tempe and San Jose) Perry
will bring some experience to the event. His ultimate goal is to provide ultra
events to runners that will challenge themselves and allow for a rewarding
finish. The general philosophy will be to reward all participants for entering
and ultimately finishing. Fewer awards are given in relation to finishing
places, but rewarding all who run. Generous aid station cut-offs will be
allowed and in the case of extreme difficulty, the 50 kilometer finish will
allow runners to end the day with an outstanding effort.
Living in Phoenix, Perry just likes to run and allow for
opportunities for others to gather and enjoy their day in the wilderness.
